Over the past 112 years, Areal Böhler has evolved from a steelworks into a vibrant hub for business, trade shows, and events. Today, it is renowned for its event venues and exhibition halls, attracting companies from diverse industries, restaurants, and a wide range of sports and leisure activities. This unique mix makes Areal Böhler a popular place to work, connect, and explore.

Our vision

In the coming years, we will transform Areal Böhler into an even more vibrant and diverse destination for both regional and international visitors. Our focus will be on revitalizing historic halls, creating additional green spaces, and reducing sealed surfaces. Sustainability is at the heart of our vision, enhancing the overall experience and atmosphere.

With local gastronomy concepts, a rich cultural program, and the establishment of innovative businesses from technology, research, and the creative industries, we aim to foster a dynamic, sustainable community that drives synergies among tenants and shapes the future of the site.

History

1914 – Founding of the Böhler-Werke steel plant on today's Areal Böhler, marking the beginning of industrial steel production.

2000s – After decades of successful steel production and industrial transformation, the plant is decommissioned.

2012 – Start of the revitalization process: former industrial halls are renovated and transformed into modern event and commercial spaces.

Today – Areal Böhler has evolved into a vibrant hub for businesses, trade fairs, events, and leisure activities, seamlessly blending historic architecture with contemporary usage concepts.
